Help Victims Of Hurricane Sandy

On November 17, 2012, Underwriter's Laboratories held a meal packing event at their Corporate Headquarters in Northbrook, IL. 
Over 200 employees and family members came out on a Saturday to help pack nutritious meals for victims of Hurricane Sandy. 

After only three short days after the announcement of the meal packing event to UL employees, the event quickly filled to capacity with volunteers, prompting the addition of another production line. This was evidence of their dedication and compassion in helping others in need. Two shifts of volunteers created nearly 50,000 meals that day. These meals were sent to the Community Food Bank in Hillside, N.J. where they will be distributed throughout their network.

The Community Food Bank assists over 1500 partner agencies, distributing food in 18 New Jersey counties, helping to feed 900,000 people every year.
