Once again during Holy Week, the faith community of St. Andrew Greek Orthodox Church came together to pack 10,000 meals for food insecure families. Congregants and students gathered on Good Friday for the second year in a row to package these nutritious meals for local hungry and food insecure households. The food was picked up on Monday May 6th, 2013 by the Northern Illinois Food bank. These meals were distributed to hundreds of families through the network of over 600 food pantries that Northern Illinois Food bank serves.

From the very young to very old, regardless of size, infirmity, or condition, over 70 volunteers lathered their hands in disinfectant, put on aprons, hairnets, and gloves, and joined hearts and hands in producing  nutritious, flavorful meals of pasta and cheese - fortified  with vitamins, nutrients, and protein - specifically designed to nurture bodies and
lift spirits.

The Feed6 team would like to thank everyone at St. Andrew Greek Orthodox Church for showing their support and helping our hungry neighbors.
