Hunger on the Rise
Now more than ever Americans are in need of assistance with basic necessities such as food. There has been a dramatic increase in hunger right here in the United States over the past three years. Government programs that focus on food assistance have seen a major increase. 18.6 million children receive food stamp benefits and nearly 51.4% of Americans will live in poverty at some point in their lives before reaching age 65. Outreach & FEED6 Programs realizes that hunger lies within our borders as well as outside of them, and we want to make a positive impact on these startling statistics.
The good news is that FEED6 has packed millions of meals that have all been distributed to local food banks and pantries, with more meal packaging events scheduled every month. Now is the time to realize hunger can affect anyone, not just a tiny village in a foreign country somewhere across the ocean, but our very own co-workers, friends, and neighbors.
