Over 200 Volunteers Pack 51,160 Meals at the 5th Annual
Romeoville Toyota Meal Packing Event

Romeoville, IL – September 19, 2026

51,160 MEALS. 200+ VOLUNTEERS. ONE INCREDIBLE COMMUNITY. ❤️

What an amazing day at Romeoville Toyota’s 5th Annual Meal Packing Event. More than 200 dedicated volunteers came together with FEED6 to pack an incredible 51,160 nutritious meals of Pasta in Tomato Basil Sauce for families facing food insecurity. The meals will be distributed through Project Hope, helping provide much-needed food to families throughout the community.

And this year we celebrated a very special milestone: over the past five years, the Romeoville Toyota meal packing initiative has now packed and distributed more than 250,000 meals! The energy throughout the day was incredible, with DJ Scott Simpson keeping the music going while volunteers worked side by side on the packing lines. We were especially proud to have more than 100 seniors come out and roll up their sleeves to help make a difference.

A very special thank you to Mayor John Noak for joining us and sharing his message of hope, compassion, and support for the most vulnerable members of our community. We were also grateful to have the Romeoville Fire Chief and members of the Romeoville Fire Department working alongside our volunteers and helping pack meals.

A SPECIAL THANK YOU TO OUR HOST & PLANNING TEAM:

Events like this don't happen overnight. They take months of planning, coordination, and people willing to do the work behind the scenes. A huge thank you to our special host, Jimmy Thomas, whose support and hospitality helped make this year's event possible. We would also like to recognize the incredible planning and hosting team of Evelyn, Mia, Jim, Sall, Mindy, Peter, and John of Romeoville Toyota, along with Lisa Kinder of the Village of Romeoville. Their hard work, coordination, and commitment leading up to the event were instrumental in bringing everyone together and making the day such a success.

COMMUNITY IN ACTION:

An event like this happens because organizations, schools, businesses, community leaders, and neighbors choose to show up and serve. We would like to recognize and thank the many groups that came out and participated:

Romeoville Toyota • Toyota Corporation • Lewis University • Grand Haven • Working Families Will County • Bolingbrook Rotary • Our Hands Together • Christ the King Jesuit College Prep • Bolingbrook Garden Club • Romeoville Fire Department • Village of Romeoville • Church of Pentecost • Envision Unlimited • DuPage County Area Project • Romeoville High School • Plainfield East High School

Your enthusiasm, generosity, and willingness to serve made this day possible.
“This event showcases the power of community spirit,” said Chris Coyne, Co-Founder of FEED6. “Every meal represents people coming together to help someone they may never meet. Five years and more than 250,000 meals later, this community continues to show what can happen when people unite around a common purpose.”

Our heartfelt thanks to Romeoville Toyota, our host and planning team, all of the participating organizations and schools, community leaders, seniors, volunteers, and supporters who made the 5th Annual Meal Packing Event such an incredible success.
