BlueCross BlueShield of Illinois Hosts Third Feed6 Meal Packaging Event
On December 11th, 2025, BlueCross BlueShield of Illinois hosted its third meal-packaging event with Feed6 at its corporate headquarters in Chicago.
During the event, volunteers packaged 50,400 meals of Pasta in Tomato Basil Sauce, all of which will be distributed by the Greater Chicago Food Depository to food-insecure neighbors just in time for the holidays.
These meals will be distributed throughout Cook County via a network of more than 650 food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, mobile programs, children’s programs, senior programs, and innovative hunger-relief initiatives focused on addressing both immediate needs and the root causes of food insecurity.
Nearly 200 BlueCross BlueShield of Illinois employees volunteered their time to package meals made with specially fortified ingredients essential to a balanced diet. Feed6 was honored to work side-by-side with such a dedicated and compassionate group of volunteers, whose commitment continues to make a meaningful impact across the Chicagoland community.
With the packaging of 50,400 meals on December 11th, the Feed6 – BCBSIL partnership has generated 150,400 meals during three events since 2015 - a remarkably generous contribution from this community-focused organization.
