Hunger Heroes 2025
101,000 Meals Packed for Veterans and Families in Need

The spirit of service was alive and well this weekend as nearly 500 volunteers joined forces for the 8th Annual Hunger Heroes meal-packing event, co-hosted once again by FEED6 and the Chicago Wolves professional hockey team at the Allstate Arena’s Skyline Room.

Together, volunteers, sponsors, and community partners helped package 101,000 nutritious meals for food-insecure veterans and their families across Chicagoland. The event, powered by the generosity of individuals, civic groups, corporations, and schools, brought people of all ages and backgrounds together under one roof, united by a shared goal of fighting hunger and honoring those who’ve served our country.

Each production line team, sponsored at $1,200, packed thousands of meals in just two hours, transforming compassion into action one scoop at a time. “Every year, this event reminds us what community really means,” said Bill Kanatas, Co-Founder of FEED6. “Seeing families, veterans, and kids working side-by-side to make a tangible difference is what Hunger Heroes is all about. We’re incredibly proud to have exceeded our 100,000 meal target again this year.”

FOX 32 Chicago was on site to cover the event, highlighting the inspiring stories of volunteers and the ongoing need for hunger relief among local veterans. The segment captured the contagious energy, music, and teamwork that have made Hunger Heroes a beloved annual tradition in the Chicagoland area.

Since its inception, the FEED6–Chicago Wolves partnership has packaged over 687,000 meals for those in need. The initiative continues to grow each year, fueled by the belief that when a community comes together, remarkable change happens.
