Brinshore Development Hosts First Meal-Packing Event at Oakton College
On September 8, 2025, Brinshore Development Company of Evanston, IL—long recognized as a household name in the development community—shifted its focus from building award-winning communities to nourishing the community itself.
Since 1994, Brinshore has developed more than 110 communities and 12,000 homes, but on this day, they came together with Feed6 to pack 25,512 meals for families in need. Scores of dedicated volunteers joined together with open hands and hearts to package these nutritious meals for neighbors in need, while vibing to the rhythms set by celebrated DJ Brandon Green (https://www.beventco.com), who has previously rocked the house at HungerHeroes2023! and HungerHeroes 2024! This milestone event was made possible through a new partnership with Oakton College, hosted at the College’s Skokie campus. The idea was spearheaded by Trustee Salzberg, who connected with Oakton President Dr. Joi Smith, and together with the Oakton team, they ensured the meals would reach those who need them most through Oakton’s own Caring Closet Pantry. Feed6 extends its heartfelt gratitude to Brinshore Development, especially Founding Principal Richard Sciortino and Miya Seay-Solomon, Director of Public Relations and Community Service, for their leadership and commitment. We also thank Oakton College for their generosity and support—particularly Trustee Salzberg, President Dr. Smith, and Student Trustee Chris AbiNader—for making this event a true example of partnership in action.
